Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
Knocking the staff away from his form with ease, Kedakai grinned manically. The goblin had survived not one but two strikes now and suddenly Kedakai was incredibly glad that he had taken that slip from the dead man. Even if this proved to be his only combat, which he doubted it to be, the thrill of finding an opponent that could survive his strikes so heartily was exciting beyond belief. Many took those attacks but seemed at least phased by them, but this greenskin looked to Kedakai's eyes to be almost unharmed! Letting loose a haunting burst of macabre laughter despite himself, the Dark Elf darted in again and slashed again at his less then thrilled opponent.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
The druchii's blade made a wide powerful sweep towards the goblins torso determined to hit its mark this time.

The wiry goblin laughed and leapt over the blade but Kedekai twisted the blade up as he swung catching the shaman's leg. With a scream of pain the shaman fell to the ground and looked back to see the stump that was his left leg. Shrieking he started to drag his body away from the druchii. Kedakai walked over with a smile and plunged the blade through its torso. There was a horrible crack as twisted the blade finally stopping the goblin's squirming.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
Where before Seros had been annoyed, he was now furious. No goblin, even one charged with the warp by this pathetic excuse for a wizard, would get away with treating him in this fashion. His magic was the stronger, and he would continue demonstrating such until the greenskin was nothing but dust.

Seros gave a grunt as the goblin bit down harder into his flesh. With a yell he grabbed the goblins face with his left hand and ripped it from his shoulder as his armor began to glow with runes.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
The enraged goblin's strength truly was tremendous. He had pushed Teheboq back from a full overheads swing as if he were a mere skink spawnling. Clearly a straight forward approach would be unlikely to succeed. Luckily the goblin seemed sufficiently distracted by the warrior-mage's light show as Teheboq rose his sword up into the air again from behind the goblin. With a swift lunge Teheboq brought the blade down at an arc, hoping to sever the brute's spine.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
"Ha.. haha... ha!" Howled Kedakai, his fury unleashed in a flurry of gore as he slashed into the shaman. Then again. And again. And again. Soon the corpse of the fallen gobbo was little more then a gory mess. Residual laughter still issuing forth past his lips, the Dark Elf brought the tip of his index finger to the flat of his draich and collected a small amount of the gobbo blood found there and brought it to his lips. It was foul, unlike the blood of elves and humans which carried sickly sweet, sometimes bitter, taste to it. Just the same it served the purpose to excite Kedakai's senses as he turned and beheld the last of the greenskins still alive. Both the lizard and the armored juggernaut were wounded-- that much was easy to tell from a cursory examination. While the greenskin too was wounded, it's body rippled and crackled with eldritch power. His head tipped to the side as he decided whom to lash out at, the Balor'ai swordsman dipped forward into a charge as he selected the large gobbo. He'd decide to what to do with the offal after his prey was vanquished.

The winds of magic had gusted briefly. It was no failing of his own, so went the threads of fate. Focusing his mind once more, Seros attempted once more to annihilate the final greenskin.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
Seros knew as he called the flames of Tzeench once more that the changer of ways had blessed him the last turn with false flames to lure the goblin into a false sense of security. This time as the flames flickered the goblin made another grab for him fearless.

Seros grabbed the goblin's face his armored gauntlet and with a surge of strength slammed it into the ground. As they made contact with the ground the heat from the flames in his hand melted right through the archers head leaving a bloody charred mess where its skull used to be.

Also of importance. The cave is a mess. Bits of goblin lie strewn about the room and the small objects that had once littered the floor were smashed and broken. There are several ways out of the cave. The way Kedakai entered from which you can see thin traces of light from the jungle beyond, further down the darkness where Teheboq emerged from (Sadly Seros, you cannot exit through the ceiling). The most interesting path is a small side cavern leading off into total darkness. Before it are numerous spikes with skulls impaled upon them, clearly some kind of warning. But if any of you listened to warnings this island would be the last place you'd be.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
Looking down at the charred remains of the gobbo archer, Kedakai's face clearly displayed his disappointment for a moment as his bloodlust faded and he remembered where he was and, more importantly, the company that he was in currently. Stepping backwards away from them and narrowly eying both Teheboq and Seros, Kedakai said nothing at first as he waited to see if they would attack him. He was so used to enemies both home in Har Ganeth and here in the no-man's land of the jungle that the thought of potential allies barely crossed his mind.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
Seeing no other immediate threats, Seros relaxed slightly, cracking his neck and casually wiping goblin goo from his gauntlet. The dark elf looked on the verge of attacking, but that was probably what he looked like all the time. The fact that the lizard hadn't attacked him already implied an unusual degree of intelligence and restraint for his kind. And if there was any lesson years of worshipping the Great Conspirator had taught him, it was that anyone who isn't already trying to stab you is a potential ally/human shield.
"Well fought, mortals. You acquitted yourselves well." Seros sniffed the air briefly. "I sense magic. That way." The sorcerer inclined his head slightly towards the dark cavern. "Shall we?"

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
While the elf's maniacal laughter disturbed him in a frighteningly new way, Teheboq trusted the instincts written into his blood.
"Your fire is strong," Teheboq paused to look at the stain that had been the goblin shaman, "and your blade has much strength. There may be more tiny greenskins." The human words felt like rocks tumbling out of his mouth, but Teheboq continued, "My bones say you are not today's foe, I shall go with you."

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
Crossing the spikes that screamed danger the path descends into complete darkness. The blue light from Teheboq's crystal radiates dully off the walls. The descent is rapid and the tunnel makes dozens of small snaking turns. After about ten minutes of walking the tunnel opens into a large open space with a massive domed ceiling. Easily larger than the previous cavern with the goblins this one was remarkable by the giant pedestal in the center of the room holding what appeared to be ancient tablet. Most disturbing however were the multitude of bones that littered the ground. Some of them quite large.
Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
This was something far greater than Teheboq had ever expected than when he had taken the job looking for some money. With due reverence, Teheboq strode forward so that he could get a better look at the table in the center of the room.
Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
As Teheboq walked carefully among the bones towards the center tablet the ground and walls began to shake. The bones began to shift as a large skeleton rose from up from the ground. The skeleton was immediately recognizable as a lizardman of impressive size towering over the three intruders. Clad in rusted ceremonial garb it drew a large warhammer from the ground and roared.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
"Go, noble saurus... strike down this abomination possessing the bones of your brother!" Seros was quite comfortable with the current state of affairs. He was very far away from the massive skeleton, and the saurus had clearly put himself in a position to engage it in melee. Although typically Seros enjoyed torching his enemies from a close enough range to smell their charred flesh, that was implausible in this situation for several reasons, not least of which was the undead's lack of flesh. Careful to keep his back turned away from the Druchii, lest the temptation be too much for him to resist, Seros closed in slightly, preparing to launch the Changer's fire if the situation called for it.

Re: Diving into the Unknown (*Completed)
Undead. Disgusting, thought Kedakai as he stalked forward around Seros' right side-- making sure to keep a careful eye on his impromtu ally. Seros was not careful to hide which way his prayers swayed and by the look of his armor he was a Norseman... a Chaos worshipper. Kedakai did not know which of the Chaos Gods he worshipped because truthfully the Balor'ai knew nothing of the individual Chaos Gods other then that they were championed by the men of the north. He knew that they were Chaos and that was good enough for him. Reaching into his cloak with his right hand and drawing out a trio of wickedly bladed throwing knives, Kedakai coiled his arm back and then let fly as he prepared to advance into combat.
