Seros looked down at the wound in his leg, up at the chain-wielding Khorne worshiper, back down at his leg, and back up at the marauder. "Your type always did let bloodlust get in the way of reason, brother. Too bad."

The Vampire had failed in his summoning of the winds of magic. To this the Tomb King Zaket VII showed some minor amount of worry. He knew well that the Vampire was no novice in the ways of magic and began to weigh his options carefully. Noting that they we outnumbered it seemed the choice was obvious

Grabbing the chain with his gauntlet Seros grinned as the Red Flames of Tzeetch flickered and formed in his hand. They began to run along the chain towards the marauder whose eyes went wide with terror. The flames stopped as soon as they touched his flesh the runes and tattoos on the marauder glowed a brilliant red. The marauders fear stricken face turned back to grin as he ripped the chain from Seros's leg and began to spin it again.

At first there was silence as the great king spoke. Several long seconds later bubbles began to form at the surface of the water. The hulking form of the Ushabi emerged from the water as it walked its way onto the land next to the raft dragging its large ritual blade along the ground behind it.

Maelkur you're up.

"Hm. I suppose he does." Mused Maelkur aloud as he flexed his hand that he'd attempted to cast with and pointed again at the spiked-chain wielder and called to the spell once more, thinking to give it one last try before resorting to his blade against such deadly foes in melee.

The berserker with the large cleaver leaped forward bringing his blade down slashing across the tomb kings chest. Zaket watched the man run forward and stood unmoving. The attack of the dual wielding berserker was not subtle and Seros heard his yell well before the attack landed. Spinning around Seros drew his blade deflecting the predictable overhead axe strike with ease. The blow was strong though and the strength of the blow reverberated throughout his blade not allowing him time to react before the second blow was made. The shortsword in the Khorne worshippers left hand plunged deep into the side of his rib cage where Seros's armor was weak. The man leaned in close as he struck snarling at Seros like a rabid dog.

Annoying though this new attacker was, thinning the numbers of these marauders was critical, and that meant focusing on the wounded one. The lack of basic tactics such as this were the reason Khorne worshipers would continue to be defeated by the more enlightened followers of the Changer of the Ways.

Red Fire M4

The blow to the Tomb King Zaket had angered Ushabti greatly as he looked murderously towards the Marauder who had attacked his lord. However to Great King knew better than to react so simply. Looking to his side he caught the motion of Seros preparing to overwhelm one of the attackers. The Old King began to ponder what other tactic would best defeat these hounds of Chaos.

"So simple, I had missed it" the King's Whispers spread out to his party. "Ushabti, slay their leader and these dogs will loose their fighting spirit."

Stepping backwards Seros pushed the man with the two blades off of him wincing as the blade withdrew from his side. Turning around he pulled his hand out towards the man with the spiked chain hurling the red flames of tzeetch towards his foe.

Reaching up to his neck, Maelkur flicked the cuff-link that held his mantle together and allowed it to fall away from his body, though the cloak and mantle seemed to disappear into the shadow as it fell as if it had never actually been there. Finally revealed from underneath his cloak, the vampire elf wore a sleeveless leather harness of obsidian hue that was adorned with various runes and symbols of mysterious origin. Flexing his tightly corded arms, Maelkur reached to his belt and in a flash had the large kopesh that had been strapped to his belt in his hand, obviously the weight of the weapon meaning little to him. With a sly grin, the vampire's body disappeared into darkness only to appear behind the marauder wielding his spiked chain, the gleaming kopesh scything through the air at his neck.

The Kopesh whistled through the air towards the neck of the marauder. Spinning around the marauder reflexively brought his chain up to block the blow. There was a resounding clash of metal on metal as the chain held strong stopping the blade.

With a grunt the marauder stepped backwards tossing the chain towards Maelkur leaving his kopesh entangled in a mess of chain. Pulling a smaller length of chain with the skull of an unknown foe attached to the end he walked forward wielding it like a morning star.

Maelkur struggled to free his blade from the lengths of chain. He was able to force it free but it cost him valuable seconds as the morning star flew towards him. Maelkur was able to bring his blade up with his unnatural speed. The kopesh caught the chain in the middle of its length acting as a pivot point causing the skull to crash into his shoulder.

The norseman smashed the Ushabi's guard aside with his large shield and brought his blade in for a low sweep. With no time to bring its great blade back the Ushabi brought its knee up forcing the blade to connect with its shin. The blade harmlessly bounced off its armored greave.

The attacks against the Tomb King Zaket VII proved fruitless in their attempts. The Old King was a living symbol of his race born stronger than that of the weaker men of the modern Empire. The blows glanced off his light armor, and where blows did meet flesh his opponents strength proved to be lacking the conviction to actually wound the Old King. Taking note of his surroundings the Tomb King Zaket VII made the obvious choice.

Lashing out with his free hand, Maelkur grabbed at the chain which had only recently struck him and once he had it in hand pulled the marauder towards him and closer to his blade for an attack against the offending human chaos worshiper.

Watching his former target disintegrate into ash from the chaos flames about his body, Maelkur tossed Seros an appreciative smirk and turned about to face the marauder slashing into his ally. Stepping foward and drawing his gleaming kopesh in a single movement that caused his mantle and cloak to fall backwards from him as if it had only been a shadow about his body. Wearing but a black-leather harness with no sleeves adorned with various sigils of mysterious make and origin, Maelkur's corded muscles flexed in response to his movements as he whirred forward and slashed at the marauder attacking Seros.

To fall for such an amateur technique made the marauder furious. As the Ushabi brought its blade in for another strike the marauder made a sudden lunge forward smashing it in the face with its shield. Stunned the guardian stumbled back. Seeing an opening the marauder spun around bringing its blade to connect directly with the constructs neck. There was a loud splash as the Ushabi's head spiraled into the water. Its body hit the ground moments later with a thud. Roaring triumphantly he turned his attention back to the wizards. Pointing his blade forward he began to walk towards the group.
